Rules
The Australian Modern Jive Registry (AMJR) provides a competitive framework designed to help standardise DWAS and Freestyle competitions across Australian events. AMJR allocates points to achievements, tracks dancer progression, and supports a culture of fairness, transparency, and community growth.
The AMJR Framework has been designed to be able to change and evolve. As the needs of our competitive Modern Jive community continue to transform, we’ll strive to keep the AMJR on the forefront, ensuring we remain accurate and relevant.
AMJR Competitor RulesPetitioning
AMJR recognises that a dancer’s journey isn’t always linear.
Whether you’re returning from a hiatus, transitioning between dance styles, or you believe that your competition level doesn’t accurately reflect your achievements/experience, the petition process is a way to ensure you are competing exactly where you belong.
How it works
A petition is a formal request for us to amend your details (e.g. a level adjustment, name change, or an update to our data). It doesn't need to be an essay—just a brief email outlining your request and your reasoning.
All petitions must be submitted to petitions@lestep.com.au. As this inbox is not closely monitored, please allow up to ten days to receive a response.
If your petition requires formal review by AMJR admin and advisory panel (i.e. for a competitive level adjustment), the actioning of your request may take some additional time. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure the continued integrity and fairness of the registry.
What to include in a petition:
- Full Name: Your name as it currently appears (or should appear) in the database.
- Current Standing: Your current level and role, in all applicable categories.
- Requested Change: The specific amendment you are seeking.
- Reason for Petition: A brief explanation of the circumstances.
- Supporting Context: Any additional information that may assist a decision.
